Child Action Nepal's amazing Trek through the Annapurna landscape will raise funds to start a second home for 20 Nepalese orphans

Join Child Action Nepal on what promises to be an unforgettable experience: trekking through areas
of outstanding natural beauty, witnessing the unique life within the Himalayas and most importantly visiting the 20 children who will be looked after by your donations We plan to open a new orphanage for 20 children in 2009 all money raised by the Annapurna Challenge will go towards establishing this new home.
 
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
 

To join Child Action Nepal’s Annapurna Trek all we ask is that you:
• Pay a non-refundable deposit of £225 to secure your seat on the plane
• Raise a minimum of £2800, £1000 of which will go to Child Action Nepal’s new project

Included:
• All international flights and internal transfers
• 5 day Tea House Trek in the Annapurna Area with sherpas and trek guides
• All food except in ‘free time’
• Luxury Accommodation in Kathmandu and Pokhara

FUNDRAISING:
 
Child Action Nepal will support you all the way through the fundraising process. Information packs will be provided and group events organised where you will be able to meet other participants, exchange fundraising ideas and learn more about the Children and Nepal
 
ITINERARY
 
Depart London 27th March 2.15 pm, arrive Kathmandu 8.20 am on the 28th (subject to flight schedules)
28th

Sightseeing and resting for challenge ahead

You will be transferred to the Yak & Yeti Hotel, a premier five-star oasis in the heart of Kathmandu (www.yakandyeti.com). After lunch, we have a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square and visit the Monkey Temple.

29th

The Trek Begins

Flight to Pokhara followed by a short trip in bus to Nayapul (total travel time 2h45m). At Nayapul (1070m) the trek begins, where we will pass through the scenic village of Birethanti to irkhedhunga, staying the evening in an original teahouse nestled in the foothills

30th

Tikhedunga to Deorali: 1360m climb

Trek to the village of Ulleri (1960m), up 1000 stone steps climbing along ridges through beautiful pine and rhododendron forests and onto the Ghorepani Pass (2750m) at Deurali

31st

Deorali to Tadapani: 550m climb

Watch the sunrise from the top of Poon Hill (3193m) with amazing unobstructed views across the Himalyas. We will then trek through lush forest to Tadapani (2590m)

1st

Tadapani to Ghandruk: 720m descent

On the 4th day you descend to Ghandruk (1940m), home of the Gurung people in sight of the Machhapuchhare Mountain

2nd

Ghandruk to Pokhara: 1000m descent

On day 5 you travel through Kimche (1638m), Shauli Bazaar and Birethanti before crossing the River over a cable bridge and on to Nayapul. Tonight we will stay in the sumptuous Fishtail Lodge situated on a secluded peninsula in Pokhara (www.fishtail-lodge.com)

3rd

Kathmandu Valley

Transfer by coach to Kathmandu (Yak and Yeti) stopping at the Riverside Spring Resort for lunch

4th

Child Action Nepal Project Visit

After breakfast we make our way to the Orphanage (LBU) where you will get to meet the children looked after by Child Action Nepal. Having lunch together offers a unique opportunity to talk and play with the children and see first hand how your support will make such a difference. In the evening we will have a gala meal at the Bojan Griha restaurant, one of the finest and the largest Nepali Restaurant within heart of Kathmandu City

5th Depart Kathmandu at 9.40 am, arrive London 10.00 pm on the same day
   
  The Itinerary is subject to the speed and fitness of the participants. Local domestic airlines are subject to weather patterns that can cause an itinerary to be delayed. All prices quoted for 2008 are subject to variation from airlines due to fuel and tax surcharges. Flights shown are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority.
